Random thoughts in the time of Corona
As uncomfortable as it is the truth must be told.
While patients are suffocating to death and their relatives desperately looking for beds in the hospital, our politicians face no such trouble, and the sufferers, by all means, are the normal people. For them, a single phone call is enough to reserve the most comfortable and luxurious cabin in Norvic or Grande whose bill would be taken care of by the national treasury.
One has to understand what is unfolding here is more than a crisis induced by the COVID. It is the manifestation of the incompetence and indifference shown by the present and past government of our country. But we often forget that we too are accomplices and are equally to be blamed if not more for this ramification. When calculated demolition of institutional safeguards was designed, the so-called intellectuals not even acquiesce, rather they fervently championed the cause with the party's flag on one's hand. The consequence was so devastating that the most revered institutions like the judiciary and universities became the recruitment center of political parties.
As of today, the government hospitals are inundated with Covid patients while private teaching hospitals are bargaining with the government imposing terms and conditions so that they can make maximum profit out of the situation.
